Hrithik Roshan’s 45th birthday celebration was all about family. The Mohenjo Daro actor celebrated his big day with dad Rakesh Roshan, who recently underwent surgery for throat cancer. Birthday boy took to social media to share a picture with his family and wrote, “And he’s up and about. Power of love! Thank you all for being with him and helping him power through. Today was a great day.”
The photo seems to be have taken in the hospital and incudes his mother Pinkie Roshan, uncle Rajesh and other family members.
On Tuesday, Hrithik Roshan took to social media to reveal that his dad and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has been diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat. He wrote, “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldn’t miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it.”
The very same day Roshan Sr underwent a surgery.
Post the surgery, Rakesh Roshan told IANS that he is fine. “I am feeling alright, thank you. Surgery is done and all is okay. God is great. I am going to be back home on Friday or Saturday,” Rakesh Roshan texted the news agency.
A source told IANS, “Ever since the diagnosis, Rakesh ji has been upbeat cheerful and not at all daunted by the setback. He went into surgery with his wife, brother (composer Rajesh Roshan), son Hrithik and daughter Sunaina by his side and the surgery went smoothly. He is expected home by the end of this week.”
On the work front, Rakesh Roshan was all set to helm the fourth installment of the popular Krrish franchise, which would see Hrithik returning as the caped crusader. Speculation is rife that the actor would play the superhero as well as the villain in the film.
Krrish 4 is slated to hit the theatres on Christmas 2020.
